Famous Brink Family Fudge Sauce

Corey makes multiple batches at Christmas for his office, our neighbors, and others who stop by during the holidays.  I think the girls hide a jar or two so there will be some left for our family.  Mom thinks it's best served over real vanilla ice cream.

1 pkg. semi sweet chocolate chips
1 c. butter
4 c. powdered sugar
3 c. half and half
1 T. vanilla
1/8 t. salt

Melt butter and chocolate chips over low heat stirring constantly. Add sugar and half and half; blending well. Increase heat and bring to boil. Cook, stirring constantly for 8 minutes. Stir in vanilla and salt.

Makes about 3 pints.
