Buttermilk Syrup

Our good friend Julie sent over a delicious recipe for Buttermilk Syrup. I've actually had this syrup many times before, but had long forgotten how incredibly YUMMY it was! Magleby's and Kneaders restaurants in Utah serve their french toast with this syrup and I'll be the first to admit that I could probably drink this syrup plain :)

1 C butter
1 C sugar
1/2 C buttermilk
1 tsp. corn syrup
1 tsp. baking soda
BOIL THEN ADD: 1 tsp. vanilla

Be sure to use a large pot because the syrup will become very frothy and if you're not careful will overflow. Also, when I've made the syrup in the past, I didn't use corn syrup... healthier, right?
